Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026

ZenBell ("the app") is built to work entirely on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what that means for your data.

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your data

Camera and Photo Library

ZenBell asks for camera and photo library access only so you can scan or select a prescription photo. Prescription photos are:

Optional: "Paste from AI"

The New Visit wizard's Scan step includes an optional "Paste from AI" option, for a prescription our on-device scanner struggles to read. If you choose it, ZenBell shows you a suggested prompt to copy and a place to paste a reply back in — but reading the photo itself happens entirely in an AI app of your own choosing, outside ZenBell, using your own account with that service. ZenBell itself never sends your photo or any data to that or any other service. If you use this option, you are sharing that prescription with the third-party AI app you chose, under its own privacy terms — review those before using it. This option is entirely optional and off by default; the other three ways to start a visit (photo scan, gallery, manual entry) never involve a third party.

Notifications

ZenBell asks for notification permission to remind you about upcoming medicine doses and, if you turn it on, temperature re-checks. These reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device via Apple's local notification system — no reminder data leaves your device.

In-App Purchase

ZenBell offers a one-time in-app purchase to unlock the full app after a free trial. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit; ZenBell does not receive or store any payment or billing information itself. We only store, locally on your device, whether the purchase was made.

Data deletion

Because nothing is collected or stored anywhere but your own device, there is nothing for us to delete on request. Deleting the app, or deleting a child/visit/medicine within the app, permanently removes that data from your device.

Children's privacy

ZenBell is intended to be used by a parent or caregiver to track a child's care — it is not directed at children, does not knowingly collect any information from children, and (per the point above) does not collect or transmit any personal information to us in the first place, about a child or otherwise.
